Grand Reopening Weekend, October 15 & 16
We invite you to celebrate the reopening of the Spencer Museum of Art with two days of special programs in our transformed facility. Festivities begin at 10am on Saturday, October 15, and continue all weekend long.
SATURDAY, OCTOBER 15
We are throwing open our doors for all to see the Museum in a new light. Join us on our grand reopening day and explore our renovated spaces, discover newly reinstalled galleries, and take part in festivities that bring the building and works of art to life throughout the day.
Reopening Weekend: Resonant Vessels
4:00–7:00PM / Begins at Capitol Federal Hall, 1654 Naismith Dr.
As part of the Spencer’s reopening weekend, experience Resonant Vessels, a new work of architectural-choral fusion by composer Forrest Pierce and commissioned by the Spencer Museum in conjunction with the Integrated Arts Research Initiative. Resonant Vessels is performed by the KU Choirs beginning at 4PM at Capitol Federal Hall, continuing at five other sites across campus, and culminating in the Museum’s Central Court. Tickets are required and may be reserved for free through the Museum’s online calendar of events.
SUNDAY, OCTOBER 16
Flip over our renovation as reopening festivities continue with a pancake brunch in the Museum’s Central Court along with other activities.
